#82 - The Militarization of Law Enforcement

Throughout the country police departments of all sizes have been militarized little by little over the years by the US Government to the point that it is becoming very difficult to distinguish police officers from soldiers.

The Department of Homeland Security offers used military surplus equipment, including MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles as well as the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV), commonly known as the Humvee.

These vehicles are currently being used to combat terrorists and insurgents in countries like Afghanistan and Iraq and the DHS is giving them to police departments here in the United States so that they are better equipped to combat its citizens.

One of the reasons that the DHS gives for law enforcement across America to have such equipment is because of all of the returning troops who "may have learned how to make improvised explosive devices while on deployment who may have anti-government sentiments".

Returning troops are considered a "threat to national security" by the Department of Homeland Security because they are combat trained, and many of them are fed up with the lies that our government keeps telling everyone and do not agree with the way America is being transformed into a socialist country. I wonder if that may be because while they were deployed they finally had a chance to see how corrupt and vile their own government has become?

But I need to make a correction here, we are NOT a threat to the National Security, we are a threat to the Government, and there is a BIG difference. We took an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign AND DOMESTIC. Our loyalty lies with the country, not the Government which consists of corrupt traitors trying to destroy the country.

Each time the politicians in Washington pass laws that infringe further on the rights of the citizens that are guaranteed by the Constitution, they commit another act of treason against the Country and the citizens.

Those corrupt politicians will do everything to retain the power that they have stolen from us. Remember, when this country was founded, the government was given no power or authority. All power and authority remained with the citizens of the country, the government merely represented them and was there to do their bidding. Government employees are SERVANTS of the People, not the other way around. This is a basic fct that our own government has forgotten. They now see themselves as our masters, and us as their slaves. And if we dare speak up against them, they consider us a "threat to national security".

They are greatly outnumbered by the citizens who could rise up against them at any moment and easily take their power back, and they know this. One of the means that the politicians use to maintain ther stolen power is by turning the police against the citizens with all of the "home-grown terrorist" and "national security threat" propaganda that they continually keep spouting. They have villified the very idea of free speech, one of the basic founding principles of this country.

When a police department agrees to accept surplus equipment from the Department of Homeland Security at deeply discounted prices, or for some departments even at no cost, they also make agreements that their department will assist the DHS in any national security threats of civil unrest. Whether they realize it or not, what they are actually agreeing to is the coast-to-coast militarization of a police force under Department of Homeland Security control. A Nationalized Police Force with military training and equipment that is being told that you are a terrorist simply because you do not agree with the government and what they are doing. How could that possibly go wrong?

The more militarized our police departments become, the more deaths to civilians they cause. Every year about 1,000 people are killed by police officers in the United States. So far in 2018 there have been 973 people shot to death by police.

In 2015 there were 1,146, and in 2016 there were 1,092. You hear about these deaths in the media often, however the media always tries to put a racial spin on the killings saying that the police are targeting minorities when the statistics show that in those two years 52 percent of the people killed by police officers were white, 26 percent were black, and 17 percent were Hispanic. This clearly shows that if it were a race issue then it is white citizens that are being targeted and killed by police, not minorities as the media would love for you to believe.

We have passed laws preventing the use of troops on American soil in law enforcement, yet the Department of Homeland Security has found a way around that by taking our own police officers and turning them into their own private militarized police force ready to quash "uprisings", "insurrections", and "civil unrest" at their call.

Clearly the government is nervous, as they should be. They have lied to the citizens, infringed upon our rights, and ignored us for far too long and they are seeing that people are wanting change. The militarization of our police force under their control is their "Ace in the hole" that they can count on if we ever stand up against them and demand that change.

Do I believe that we can ever go back to how it was before our police were outfitted with military styled uniforms and paratrooper boots, driving down the streets in Humvees with assault weapons, and flying drones over our houses to spy on us? No, those days are long gone. We have already allowed it to happen. We have already let the "jeannie out of the bottle". We have allowed our fear and insecurities to take away our own liberties and freedoms, which is exactly what those in government wanted all along.

The only future outcome that I can see coming from the militarization of law enforcement is complete Martial Law.

Until Next Time
